Sputnik Weazel

With over 190 independent original songs released, Sputnik is one of the most prolific and eclectic song writers of his generation.
Flirting with the Cult of Celebrity is Sputnik’s 16th studio album to date, featuring 10 previously unreleased tracks.

In a musical journey that began in the heyday of 'punk', Sputnik has busked with Eddie Izzard & jammed with Jools Holland. He accidentally became a session musician for BMG, and has performed at thousands of venues & festivals throughout Europe; with the infamous trio 'Jimmy The Weazel', once doing over 250 gigs in one year, including five gigs in three countries, in two days.

In the 1990's Sputnik played guitar for the notorious Hot Diggedy Dogs who terrorized shopping mall's up and down the UK with their cardboard covered guitars and dustbins, and were regulars at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Club; not to mention a live appearance on TV with Screaming Lord Sutch, and the time that Sputnik performed on platform 10 at London Bridge Station for the launch of the Australian Orient Express... but that's another story...

From 2000 onwards, Sputnik has drummed and toured with the Surfin’ Lungs (Wild Punk Records: Spain), & since 2011 he has occupied the drum stool for the Folk/Punk icons - The Men They Couldn’t Hang (TMTCH).

Sputnik currently resides in rural West Wales, and when not writing or staring at the mountains, he may also be found performing with Stefan Cush & The Feral Family, a band he co-founded with Cush from TMTCH - their first album "Brough Superior" was released by Cherry Red Records.
