Steam Theory is an original recording project by Jason Denkevitz. The music seeks to evoke different stories and emotions without the use of lyrics. Combining elements of various genres, the listener is invited to imagine their own settings for the music. Jason writes, arranges, performs and records the music, and sometimes involves in guest musicians.
(2010) 'Enduring Delirium' is focused on progressive rock.
(2012) 'Helios Rider' has a more instrumental rock/americana/southern rock feel, with heavy doses of prog.
(2015) 'Asunder' is a double cd focused on more expansive arrangements incorporating orchestral instrumentation in coordination with traditional rock instruments (guitars, bass, drums). The album is a mixture of Prog, Classical, Fusion, Metal and World music.
(2017) A 4th studio album is currently in the works and should be available by the summer.
There is also a Steam Theory Band, made up of Jason on guitar/synth and various other Baltimore/D.C.area musicians. Past and current musicians have included Michael Esposito, Nils Schwerzmann, Keith Misemer, Roger Stewart, Nick Costa, and Dave Klappenburger.
