Stefano Zeni was born in Milan on December 30, 1974. He graduated in violin from Trento Conservatory under M° Elena Laffranchi in 1997 and afterwards attended the jazz summer workshops in Siena under M° Bruno Tommaso and M° Gianluigi Trovesi in 1999. He postgraduated in Jazz from Brescia Conservatory under M° Corrado Guarino in 2004.
Versatile musician, composer and arranger he performs regularly with modern, jazz, fusion, ethnic, classic and folk groups.
Currently he is working with the following musicians: Ellade Bandini, Mario Arcari, Giorgio Cordini, Eros Cristiani, Joe Damiani and many others.
Past collaborations include those with Sandro Gibellini, Pier Michelatti, Fulvio Sigurtà, Mauro “Otto” Ottolini, Roberto Bonati, Roberto Dani, Beppe Caruso, Kyle Gregory, Giulio Visibelli, Riccardo Tesi.
He composed the one_act musical comedy, called "La Piana delle Anguane" in collaboration with Angela Citterio (first flautist with "I Pomeriggi Musicali" Orchestra in Milan) and the lyricist Raffaella Benetti.
He works in recording studios in various roles collaborating with different artists.
He plays violin, viola, bouzouki, mandolino, dijdgeridoo and other instruments.
Starting September 15th, 2011 "Passaggi circolari" (yvp music) - the new album by the violinist and composer - is available in music shops, iTunes and other digital stores.
"Passaggi circolari" - composed and arranged by Stefano Zeni- includes eleven instrumental tracks whose themes are based on odd times, rhythmical cycles and melodic counterpoints.
The album is produced by the German label yvp music, while the artistic production and the arrangements are both by Stefano Zeni.
