In 2005 an "All-Star" lineup of some of West Virginia and Kentucky's best musicians and vocalists, joined by special guests, went into the studio to record what was one of the year's most exciting projects in Bluegrass music. The project evolved from a group of talented friends in several different bands who routinely get together during down time, to jam or make special show appearances as a band. Those friends; Tommy Drake, Chris Stockwell, Tim Corbett, Kelly Davis, tried to showcase their talents in song writing, arrangement, musical support, vocal ability, and diverse styles, in songs performed by several of the top vocalists in Bluegrass music. The title cut of the CD is an original song entitled Step Into The Blue , which was written by Tim Corbett with vocals added by Randy Kohrs, and another highlight was a song entitled "Daddy's Meadow Fields" written by Kelly Davis with vocals added by Ernie Thacker. The project also includes original material written by Bill Castle, Kelly Davis, Mark Brinkman and Mike Evans . After many requests, a spin off band from the project began to perform regionally and won several band competitions. The group still performs several times a year at festivals and special appearances.
