Singer songwriters Stetson Adkisson and Cia Cherryholmes have teamed up to create a project focusing on voice and music in a pure form, uncluttered with electronics or over production. With guitar and banjo as the instrument mainstays, they have created a unique sound that blends raw and soulful with poignant and sincere. As a duo, they have released their first album together.
Stetson Adkisson started his musical career in 2003. As a singer, songwriter, and guitarist he has played many venues in the Western United States and released a self-titled album in 2006. The honesty in his voice paired with his real-to-life writing style captivate audiences and have made him a fan favorite. As well as being a touring musician, Stetson is a professional hunting and fly fishing guide.
Cia Cherryholmes began playing music at the age of 15 with the internationally acclaimed band Cherryholmes. As their lead singer, banjoist, and prominent songwriter, she garnered 5 Grammy nominations over the band’s 12 year career and can be heard as a back up artist on many industry projects.
Following the disbanding of Cherryholmes in the summer of 2011, Cia has stayed in touch with her existing fans through her Facebook Fan Page with a few pictures and raw you-tube videos, all the while prepping for her next venture. Subsequently, Stetson and Cia have started a new Facebook page, and an official website has now been launched, www.StetsonandCia.com.
“We wanted to know how Cia’s fans would feel about her working with another artist. So far, the reviews, as well as comments seem to be very positive. We are now hopeful they will like what we together have to offer in a show, as well as in recordings,” states Stetson.
Stetson and Cia’s songwriting styles are quite complementary, with their voices blending together to create a sound that is simultaneously simple and complex.
Focusing on finding a well-balanced mix of singer-songwriter rooms and large venues, Stetson and Cia are poised to share their unique show with audiences around the globe. Their style – a blend of country, roots and AcoustiCana – allows their music to translate to music lovers of all genres, including pop and country.
