Biography

Steve Schroeder is a singer/songwriter based in Portland, Oregon. Originally from Grafton Wisconsin, Steve played in two different band throughout the 90's ( The Timothys and Tilly's Punctured Romance). Upon moving to Portland in 1998, Steve began putting together his own recording studio and putting out albums (about 15 to date). All the songs are written, recorded, and produced by Steve Schroeder; as well as the art work , layouts, and music videos. Steve currently teaches special education in Oregon and is working on writing an album of Kid's songs. Steve grew up listening to the Beatles and is heavily influenced by British Pop. Other influenced include XTC, Robyn Hitchcock, The Beautiful South, John Wesley Harding, Michael Penn, The Housemartins, Belle and Sebatian, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Bob Dylan. Steve's music includes original songs that are melodic and upbeat with great hooks.
