Storm (noun)- A disturbance of the atmosphere marked by wind, and usually by rain, snow, hail, sleet, or thunder and lightning. ~ Merriam-Webster Dictionary This Storm is about to take on the world and it doesn't involve disturbances in the atmosphere well, dont be sure about that. Storm Deisel (born Bradley S. Bobo) may be causing all kinds of disturbances musically. After his mother had the inclination of calling him her little storm as the result of a severe storm while she was delivering him at the hospital, the name has stuck with him. Born into a naturally musical family, Storms father wrote songs for BJ Thomas and was a bongo aficionado, often carrying his bongo drums with him wherever he went and sitting in on jam sessions. For Storm Deisel, music fills the void and encompasses who I am as a person.
At a crossroads and after passing on several letters and offers to play college football, Storm Deisel chose the path of pursuing music. While two trips to Los Angeles in an attempt to make connections in the music industry didn't pan out the way he intended, he made his way back to Kansas City, MO. Unable to keep the music inside him quiet, he has made this - his third trip back to Los Angeles. They say third time is a charm, that may be exactly what this is with his first solo album The Perfect Storm. Being influenced by the R&B greats, Storm proclaims his music as, Smokey Robinson meets R Kelly meets Usher. The elements of classic R&B remain influential in his tracks "The Plane Song" and "Heartbreak", but the nitty-gritty R&B the kind that gets your body moving, is ever-apparent in the tracks "The New Son of R&B" and "Summer". Writing lyrics seem to come easy for Storm Deisel as he has written the theme song for a feature film entitled "Spinning Into Butter" starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Storm starts with the hook, grabs the listener and then moves on to formulate the rest of the song. The result is an infectious groove.
Although The Perfect Storm is his first solo album, Storm Deisel has been seasoned by working with sought-after producers and engineers. He has collaborated with engineer/mixer/producer, Crayge Lindesay (Lisa Stansfield) and arranger/producer Sylvia Bennett-Smith (Destinys Child and Cece Winans) and Alonzo "Scooter" Powell (James Ingram and Norman Brown) and many more.
