Strangeletter

Biography

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Strangeletter is a post-industrial progressive rock band who’s music explores a fracturing world, the desire for new beginnings, madness, mania, serenity, and the indelible tenacity ingrained in our collective unconscious.

The band was founded by Steven James Bayless, the driving creative force behind the project and a self described “obsessive perfectionist.” After writing and producing Strangeletter's self-titled debut album in 2009 Bayless enlisted the talents of Phillip Ferrier, Paul Carrigg and Elina Niemelä to round out its touring line-up.

Strangeletter's debut album was met with widespread fan acclaim. Tracks such as “Here Comes A Chopper” and “Softly Creeping Sunbeams” have been featured in spots for the TV shows Firefly and Being Human, video games trailers for Playstation’s inFamous 2, and IFC’s Portlandia.

Strangeletter is quickly raising the standard for what modern alternative rock can sound like and continues to perform and tour in the Northwest. The band is also releasing singles on its website: www.strangeletter.net and is working on its sophomore album due out mid 2012.
