"Suburbia" is a multi-generational band who's original music is devoted to the the basic principles of GOOD ROCK MUSIC; namely, top-notch musicianship, solid lyrics that mean something, and great vocals.
The three members of "Suburbia" are Jeff Cohen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lou Comito (keyboards, drums), and Jeff's son, Aaron Cohen (lead guitar). Jeff and Lou have been playing, writing and recording together for twenty-five years. Jeff's background was mainly in commercial rock music, while Lou has a more eclectic taste which includes jazz, classical, and fusion. Aaron joined the band six years ago and immediately gave the band the youthful edge it needed.
"Suburbia" plays occasional live gigs in the New York metropolitan area. They like mixing originals and covers, and they use pre-recorded backing tracks from their studio recordings to create a full sound with just three musicians. Their cover songs reflect their influences as well: U2, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Robert Palmer, The Doors, Don Henley, Janis Joplin, The Animals, Bruce Springsteen, and many more.
"Suburbia's" first CD, "Talk Is Cheap," brought together songs that had been written over many years, and finally put down in permanent form. Early this year (2011) the band will release of their new album, "Hole In The Road," comprised of eleven brand new songs.
