THE UGLY DUCKLINGS

BIOGRAPHY

The UGLY DUCKLINGS formed in 1965 and disbanded in 1974. (the original core-band split in late 1967). At the beginning of the eighties the band came back & played sporadically until 2004 when guitarist Roger Mayne died. In the 60's they released 6 singles & 1 Album (Somewhere Outside). Their biggest hit was "Gaslight" which made it to #1 on C.H.U.M. Radio in Toronto, Canada in October of 1967. They pushed The Rolling Stones' double-sided hit (Dandelion/We Love You) out of the #1 spot!

Over the years, they recorded many demos and "Live" gigs, which are now starting to be released. They are credited with being the first true "Indie" Band in Canada!
