Tania Rose

Biography

Well known for her dreamy almost-instrumental CD catalogue, Tania’s career has been peppered with eclectic projects outside of the mainstream, and cross-genre recordings.

Her biggest and most widely acclaimed work is the soundtrack to CORAL SEA DREAMING in the early 1990’s, an undersea film by fellow Australian and Emmy award winning film-maker David Hannan. Significantly David and Tania teamed up again for a high definition follow-up in 2009, CORAL SEA DREAMING 2. A passionate advocate for global sustainability and self sufficiency, Tania’s involvement in these projects holds great personal significance.

Producing her own work from her private studio, Tania’s music is often a blend of acoustic instruments and the synthesized world, which she couples with a mesmerising angelic voice, often using it as an instrument. Eclectic in her influences, Tania’s work ranges from instrumentals reflecting Renaissance flavours, to singer/songwriter ballads and rhythmic electronica. Her broad range of creative projects also takes her work into more upbeat and occasionally industrial explorations. But regardless of her platform, Tania Rose’s love of harmonies and delicately weaving melodies are her signature, an influence of both her classical singing, and her early passion for classical religious music.

Tania Rose is widely known for her New Age music recordings, which include 43 ANGELS, DRIFT, JOURNEYS, SECRET HEALING MEDITATIONS, FEATHER’S BREATH, and LITTLE WHITE CLOUD. Her live performances are shared with partner Mark Moussa, and unlike most of her recordings, revolve around songs. Her voice has been described as “a unique instrument in it's own right” and though she has a diverse collection of songs she has written, it is only in the last few years that she had begun recording them for public release.

Working with and developing opportunities for young people with and without disabilities in the early part of her career, Tania's passion for Creative Thinking led her to explore her own unique approach to music, which centres around improvisation. She has a strong artist following on her blog www.taniarose.blogspot , where she shares her observations of the creative mind, and is about to release a book on the topic.

Aside from her musical world, Tania is also a visual artist and artisan, producing an eclectic collection of unique artworks in a variety of mediums including Textiles, Paper Mache’, and Photography. She designs all of her own CD artwork, and occassionally collaborates with other visual artists in a variety of projects outside of music.

With a contrasting interest in technology and old-style village values, Tania Rose places great importance on self exploration and expression, the need to develop opportunities for self empowerment, and the evolution of creative thought. Tania hopes to continue to be part of the ongoing global discussion on a self-sufficient and self-sustaining future.
