Tastiera

Biography

Tastiera is a techno-pop soundtrack to the agonizing confusion of one geek's life.

That geek, a.k.a. Shawn William Miller, was born in Denver, Colorado, on March 31, 1969. He began playing music at the age of three, on a pink toy piano that he promptly broke in his unbridled enthusiasm. In 1976, he began taking lessons on a real piano, and by the age of 12, he was composing his own songs. As the years passed, pianos were replaced with increasingly expensive synthesizers, childish lyrics were replaced with only somewhat childish lyrics, and bad vocals were never replaced at all. But two things remain constant: Shawn rarely sings about the same things other artists do, and he usually places a piano riff where it probably doesn't belong.

Shawn returned to Denver in 2004, where he currently lives with his girlfriend Cindy. He works as an aerospace engineer in the daytime, plays ice hockey (both goalie and forward) three times a week, and eats and drinks as though the end is tomorrow (thereby making that more likely).

He is currently working on the eleventh Tastiera album, with an expected release sometime in late 2009.
