Temet Nosce from Karmøy, Norway had their debut studio album “Know Thyself” (2010). Their releases also include an EP “Love” (2011) and two singles, “Create your own life” (2012) and “Rock the World” (2013) The band has received press coverage in NRK 21 news, Radio playing in NRK P1 and two number 1 positions on Radio 102's official top 40 chart.
The band got also international attention with their two music awards in USA (Sene Film Music & Art Festival, Rhode Island, USA) as well as media coverage in India (The Hindu, Indian Express and The Times of India). Additionally, the music video for the song "Create Your Own Life" was filmed in London, England and England was also the first country where Temet Nosce played a concert outside Norway's borders.
Temet Nosce is a norwegian rock band from Karmøy, Norway’s west coast.
The band started in October 2009 by Roy Kling, song writer and guitarist of the band. Together with lead singer Vidar Stueland and drummer Leif Helge Olsen, they went into the studio to record their debut album "Know Thyself".
Shortly after the band was joined by Christian Welde (keyboard) and Terje Fjell (bass). The band was now complete and "Know Thyself" was released in August 2010.
As a result of the great response from the audience, Temet Nosce was asked to perform at Oktober Rock Festival in 2010, together with artists Beth Hart and Slade. By this time one of the songs of their debut album, "Another World" had reached the top 40 radio charts.
Temet Nosce held several concerts locally, and as the good response continued, the band was chosen as the support band for Lissie, in June 2011.
At the same time, the band's new song "We are all one" had radio release and quickly hit the top 40 charts. By then Temet Nosce had decided to make their first music video based on their latest song "We are all one". The video shoot took place just a few months later at the historical building “Søderberg”, Hydro, a former aluminium production plant that was being demolished after 40 years of operations.
The music video was ready to be introduced the same date as the band's new EP "Love" (October 2011) which featured 3 songs, including a new version of their song "Change can only begin with yourself", which once again hit the top 40 charts at the end of 2011 climbing to nr. 1 on the list early in 2012. (The song remained on the carts for 23 weeks).
In February 2012 Temet Nosce had a new single ready "Create your own life". The band's new music video based on this song was filmed in London, England and the release date for both the single and the video was March , 2012.
In June 2012 Temet Nosce was invited to play their first international gig at Stony Stratford Festival in England. Playing at Stony was a great step for the band. The band manager, Roy Kling explained the importance of playing abroad: "Such gigs let us play our music in a new scene in front of new crowd who might not have heard us before" The band, who received a huge response during and after the show, will continue working towards international gigs.
At the end of 2012, Temet Nosce and Espen Olsen Film presented the music video of "Change can only begin with yourself" which was nr. 1 at the Radio 102 top 40 chart early in 2012 and remainedon the charts for 23 weeks. Espen Olsen got in touch with filmmakers from all over the world and after a couple of months, he got over 20 filmmakers with him on the project.
The film shows pictures from countries like Kenya, India, Columbia, Italy, Oman, USA and many more. All of the filmmakers got the chance to interpretate both the lyrics and music of this track so that they could bring their own story into pictures.This project got air time onNRK Norwegian broadcast corporation, the biggest media organization in Norway and press from India "The Hindu" and Africa, Filmbiz Africa
"Change can only begin with yourself" won the audience award for the best music video, at SENE Music & Art Festival, Rhode Island USA.
February 2013, the band released a new single "Rock the world" followed by a music video with breathtaking scenery filmed at Pulpit Rock, Norway. A massive Cliff 2000 feet above Lysefjorden. May 05th 2013 Rock the World was successfully filmed at Pulpit Rock, Norway, and at the same time Rock the World had climb to nr. 1 at Radio 102 top 40 charts.
Following the success of "Rock The World” in 2013, that reached the top charts of Radio 102's official Top 40 list, and its awards winner music video filmed at Pulpit Rock, the band has, in 2014 undergone some changes in the original lineup. New lead vocalist Andi Kravljaca from Stockholm, Sweden is not unfamiliar with Norwegian music. He has previously been in projects together with artists Åge Sten Nilsen (Wigwam) and Tony Mills (TNT)
