Biography

terns

A slow burn produces more heat over time. The years of effort put forth by terns are paying off as they prepare to release their sophomore album, “Oh, Long Road”, on July 25, 2009. The trio have been striking the flint together for several years and sparks are beginning to fly. On their latest album, terns continue to combine genre-blending indie rock with intelligently crafted songs loaded with infectious melodies. Utilizing live, off-the-floor recording, terns successfully convey the energy of their music while implementing a wide variety of musical tastes and dynamic shifts.
With Dan McArthur keeping time on drums, Jordan Fox and Tim McArthur exchange guitar, bass and vocal duties on a song-by-song basis, not to mention the various other instruments that add memorable hooks to the tracks. The songwriting duo of J.Fox and T-Bone McArthur are finally revealing the songs they have been crafting with great care and patience over the past two years.
After releasing their first album, “Little Fingers” in late 2007, Jordan and Tim dedicated significant time and energy to honing the songs that would find their home on the new album. Their devotion has resulted in a mature sound that reveals depth achieved even within a pop music structure. With influences ranging from indie rock and folk to Americana and blues, terns are certain to warm your ears with their upbeat tunes of love, social justice and trying to win over the trust of your neighbour’s cat. It’s a true story.
terns are the newest flu strain but one you will be happy to catch so you can call in sick to work. You can try to stand still but you might as well get on your dancing shoes and revel in the happiness that terns pack into their three minute sonatas.
