BIOGRAPHY
Tha Striker is an alias for dance/R&B producer Dar E., who hails from the birthplace of house music, Chicago, IL. This Producer, Remixer, Songwriter, Multi-Percussionist, and - if that's not enough - CEO of Inner City Groove Records, has been on the underground music scene since Inner City Groove's first release in 1995, the dance/pop maxi-single "More Love" by Giovanni Blue.
After the release of "More Love", the demands of being a working Multi-Percussionist, playing on live and studio projects ranging from R&B to dance to jazz, temporarily sidetracked Dar from his initial focus of releasing records.
"Eventually," said Dar, "my creative juices began to get the best of me, and I decided it was time to get off the bench and get back into the game of making records. I could always go back to being a player."
With a little bit of salt and pepper, this idea became Tha Striker's "Shoo B Do" maxi-single, which consists of four mixes: (1) the Radio Mix, an undeniable hard-hitting, repetitive, underground dance beat laced with a robotic/vocoder voice singing "Shoo B Do"; (2) the Extended Radio Mix, which builds on the Radio Mix and also has some surprises in the beginning; (3) the Deep House Mix, which is a throwback to the classic days of house music, incorporating a funky, four-to-the-floor house beat with melodic use of horn stabs and lush strings building to a peak breakdown; and (4) the Say My Name Mix, a soulful, sexy house groove that is so smooth you will still be singing "Shoo B Do" long after the CD has been put away.
If you're ready to get your club/party/exercise on - whether you're a DJ, a clubgoer or anyone in between - this high energy CD is a must-have for your music collection.
Dar is currently in the studio finishing up releases for 2013.
