The Audience

The Audience were a new wave / punk / mod band from Sussex (UK) consisting of Sputnik Weazel (vocals/drums), Ernie O'Brian (vocals/guitar), & Boppa Bailey (bass), in later years Dithery Dave (keyboards) joined the line-up followed by Steve Wickins (drums) who joined when Sputnik moved up front with a keyboard on an ironing board. The Audience played mostly in London and the South East, sharing the stage with the likes of The Anti Nowhere League, Bram Tchaikovsky, Peter And The Test Tube Babies, The Chefs & The Drivers (featuring Nick - "Died in your arms tonight" - Van Eede).

Sputnik went on to play with The Weazels and The Hot Diggedy Dogs, and drummed, sang, and toured with the Surfin' Lungs (Wild Punk Records:Spain) from 2001 - 2011. Since 2011 Sputnik has drummed for the folk/punk icons "The Men They Couldn't Hang".

Ernie produced the first Lolita Storm album, and briefly joined the Anti-Nowhere League.
Sputnik and Ernie were also in (the ironically named) The legendary Sputnik Weazel Band.
