Formed in late 2008, The Brothel Corpse Trio, hit the Aberdeen music scene creating a wave of hysteria and a cult following of easily corrupted individuals with their fast paced, corpse n’ roll style music. Phil on vocals, Jono on drums and Squiddy on double bass, together create a driving force pushing their music on unsuspecting people and turning heads with an ingenious style of playing. Tongue in cheek lyrics, driving drum beats, the fastest down stroke ever seen and the deep, penetrating double bass create the Trios brilliant punk sound.
With the close of Squiddy’s previous bands, Dirty Wee Middens and Jonny Skyscraper, Phil’s previous band Bacchus and many other side projects between Phil and Jono in their home town, being very little else to do besides playing music or reproducing in Shetland, the three found each other in Aberdeen and decided the time was right to start their own project. With all their individual experiences in the music scene, multiple tours including a ruckus time on a European tour, their different and very unique styles harmonized together to create a uniform sound all their own.
After only a few sessions together The Brothel Corpse Trio’s confidence and ability was clear. Taking to the stage in many local bars and clubs their talent resonated from the stage. The powerful and incredibly addictive sound on top of the bizarre subject matter created a much needed addition to the musical world. After laying the tracks down on their first album Hanging in the Whore House, the band were given the opportunity to do larger shows and show other cities their style and musical genius thus expanding their following and the bond between the Trio.
The Brothel Corpse Trio are currently heading back to the studio having completed a second albums worth of exciting new tracks that the world deservers to hear.
