The Bulldog Brothers
Coming from the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, The Bulldog Brothers were founded by Roman Fiorella and Sam Rogers-Petro when the two of them were in Third Grade. The original band was Sam, Roman, and their classmate Oliver. They played mostly covers, on Sam’s Junior Acoustic guitar. They gathered a small fan-base throughout their school. When they were in Fourth Grade, Sam split off and began also playing with a different band, called the Invaders. They played mostly Punk style music. After some minor conflicts, the two bands decided to combine. At this point, Roman was elected as the bass player, Jacob Hoffman, a member of The Invaders, played drums, Ben Rogers-Petro played Keyboard, and Sam played guitar and sung. After the bands combined, Sam brought some of the Punk style back to The Bulldog Brothers. This shaped the bands genre. Sam has been the primary songwriter, and at this point he began writing more rock style songs. He finally got an electric guitar, and the band was in motion. Their first real gig was in the Pocono Mountains at a friend’s music festival. They began having more of an interest in recording. They were often playing at their schools coffee houses, and they were generating a stronger fan-base. When they were in Seventh Grade, Sam wrote “Dethroned”. They played it at the coffee house, and it became an instant hit. The people loved it, and it was often requested. At this point, Jacob left the band, and Sam and Ben’s brother Daniel became drummer. Daniel was only nine years old. They recorded their first song, “Dethroned” In the summer of 2010. When it was finished, they played it for many of their fans. The feedback was spectacular. With a promising start, The Bulldog Brothers will continue to make music.
Dethroned was written by Sam Rogers-Petro. The message of the song is anti-bullying. The current band members are Sam, Guitar player, song writer, and lead vocals, Roman, Bass, and back-up vocals, Ben, keyboards and back-up vocals, and Daniel, the drummer. All the band members are close friends.
