The Canadian lead singer and songwriter, Daniel Irwin Tucker, played in a number of heavy rock and classic rock bands through the years. He made a number of demos, but in 1996 he made his debut album, HOPE OF THE DEAD. In 1999 he made his second album, SOUL GRAFFITI. Both were released by Panacea under the name, The Dan Tucker Band, and were distributed to select music stores across Canada, such as HMV and CDPLUS.
His musical styles range from Classic Rock to Classic 70's metal. Many have compared his music and vocal styles to Soundgarden, Early Sabbath, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Collective Soul, The Black Crowes and Lynyrd Skynyrd. An interesting blend of old and new school. There were line-up changes starting in the mid-90's due to chronic health issues suffered by Daniel. It all came to a thundering cresendo in 2000. He started touring with his band to promote his second album. Performed live on a Toronto-based, nationally broadcast TV show. Was booked to play TV and radio talk shows; but was forced into early retirement due to his declining health. Since then, he has continued to write songs. He also plans to make a follow-up CD. Daniel is also a published author. His first book, ******PHANTOM PAIN******, released in 2006, is a collection of poems & tales that use the so-called "phantom pain" experienced by the removed limb of an amputee to relate the emotional pain felt by all of us--in one degree or another--and the subsequent isolation, emptiness and loneliness. His second book of poems and tales, ******BETWEEN DARKNESS AND LIGHT******, is scheduled to be released in 2013. His writing website is: www.myspace.com/danielirwintucker
