The Divettes

Canned Entertainment presents.............The Divettes

"We love music because it is our source of joy! It rejuvenates, energises and awakens our spirit in a way nothing else can and we believe that music has the power to touch EVERYONE in this way, whatever the Genre and regardless of Age, Race or Gender.... Music transcends EVERYTHING!"

This female London based trio have been carving a career in the Soul, Reggae, Soca & Pop genres for over a decade. Their collective portfolio boasts an array of established singers & musicians, producers, TV appearances and events, as well as working for leading cultural development organisations such as ABC (The Association of British Calypsonian/Carnival Village) for the past nine years.

Collectively and individually they can be heard doing background vocals on numerous releases from prominent artists such as Joe Cocker and Alison Moyet to name but a few. Their 'Live Performances' with noted singers from the diverse genres of Urban Music includes some much loved and respected names in the field.

The Divettes (aka the Soca Divettes) have just completed their 3rd single entitled `Soca Jumbie` ... a very upbeat, vibrant club & party track with an infectiously memorable pulsating Bass line which locks in with and carries the dynamic and yet silky smooth lead vocal melody line to a harmoniously catchy chorus line that you'll find yourself singing along with almost instantaneously. The song features the young eclectic rising rap artist 'Solomon' (of the Rhythm Killers and of Aswad), who is best known for his rap feature on the mega hit 'Shine' by Aswad. Solomon delivers a powerful and skillfully crafted rap in the middle 8, raising the track to another level by giving it more edge with his stellar performance.

'Soca Jumbie' is due for release on 15th March 2013 and is available here on CD Baby. It has already been tipped by industry moguls to be a "radio, party and carnival/siesta favourite and very well may find itself lasting beyond its years, because of its never-ending Friday night theme and it's anthem-like chorus hook.."

Look out for the Soca Divettes and their unique blend of dynamism, vitality and song.
