The Easy Tigers

Biography

Abi is a London girl, born and bred. In 2004, needing respite from dangerous love and London, she bought a mandolin and spent six months roaming South America, writing tunes and letting Brazilian street kids thrash her mandolin. She returned to the smoke inspired by Brazilian drumming groups, Pagode bands, The Amazon and simply brought together sounds she likes: mandolin, bouzouki, acoustic guitar, jazz double bass and Latin percussion. As if by magic, her new band, The Easy Tigers was born and with maximum fun and minimal tweaking, they recorded her debut album ‘Breathe the Life of Strangers’, released in October 2005.

Since then, Abi has started playing and writing on the guitar and has also returned to her other instrument, the piano. She’s been playing solo and with her band mainly in London and further afield, most recently at the Glastonbury Festival.

She is currently recording album number two, largely written on the piano, with some tunes featuring The Easy Tigers, some at the piano. New, heartbreak-fuelled tunes require the strength of a drum kit to power them along, so four Tigers have now become five.

Please stay tuned for the new album due out early 2010 and thank you for listening. Spread the Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
