The Floating Opera Orchestra

Biography

Who is The Floating Opera Orchestra?

After years of performing in various bands and composing for the theatre, multi-instrumentalist/composer, Brandon Brown formed the Floating Opera Orchestra to better communicate many things that had previously been un-communicated. "The idea of this Orchestra is to continuously search for the answers to many questions - through constant change of personnel, style, and direction."

"Filled with wild humor, intentive theme-play and a darkly imaginative power." - Ft. Worth Chronicler

"Playful, idiomatically sharp, and intellectually engaging." - Chicago Music Monthly

The sound of the Floating Opera Orchestra has been called a New Orleans paradigm with Slovakian undertones; a touch of Eastern European dark circuses; a vaudeville-inspired instrumental tapestry; an unpredictable monster; a contagious soundtrack. Difficult to categorize, yet easy to enjoy.
There is not one “story”, but a proliferation of characters that tantalize the listener with suggestions of vast scenarios and organic tapestries; such digressions, however, are less the product of careless craft than of a lush and frantic imagination overwhelming its own project.

Brown provided the musical score for film director Eric Hueber's film, Rainbows End, as well as his next feature film, Flutter, due out in 2012.
The Rainbows End soundtrack is now available through CDBaby and Amazon.com
