Biography

The Gift/Curse is the amalgamation of various heavy hitters from the San Diego indie rock scene. Fronting the band on guitar and vocals from early Poway punk fame is Noel Jordan (ex-Classified). Heading up the rhythm section is the tightly nit and fierce duo of Danny King behind the kit and Ismael “Chacho” Velazquez on bass, whom both spent a decade crafting songs with indie idols Spell Toronto. Rounding out the band on lead guitar is William Driskill, who also batters drums for local scene kings Buckfast Superbee. However, with that said, this is very much a new band with a new attitude and ideas. Anything goes for this gang of four as they set out to make genuine music using any number of influences and styles. Songs of despair, self doubt, hope and bliss run the gamete of emotions portrayed in Jordan’s lyrics. It is evident that this is a tried and true band making honest records and playing their hearts out on stage. It’s as simple as that.
