Biography

The Hipwaders are a showcase for the kid-friendly songwriting of Tito Uquillas. In 2005, the band received a Parent's Choice Award for their first album, “The Smile Project”. The Hipwaders’ official self-titled debut album also won a Parents’ Choice Award and the band was nominated by XM Satellite Radio as one of the best new kid's' music acts of 2005.

In 2007, The Hipwaders released the album, "Educated Kid", and performed at
the Lollapalooza Festival, in Chicago. The album was voted #5 best album of the
year in the “Fids and Kamily” poll. The title track went to #1 on the XMKids Radio and the band was invited to perform live at XM Satellite Studios in Washington DC.

In 2008, the band received an enthusiastic response after having been invited to
the annual "Rock and Blues" Festival at the Snowbird resort in Utah. The band also received Childrens Music Web Awards for both of their previous albums.

In 2009, The Hipwaders released their EP, “Goodie Bag”, for which About.com’s Warren Truitt has called, “One of the best kid’s albums of 2009, so far”.

The Hipwaders next cd, “A Kindie Christmas”, will be released 11/06/2009 and digitally on 10/06/2009.

The Hipwaders continue to perform their "Hip Music for Kids" and families
throughout the U.S. and their music can be heard on MTV, Animal Planet, VH1, Discovery Health, TLC, The Style Network, PBS, Super Station, E!, Bravo, Womens Entertainment, CMTV, and the Travel Channel.
