The John Sullivan Brigade
Formed in 2005, the JOHN SULLIVAN BRIGADE's self-titled, 10-song release gave the Long Island (N.Y.)-based band its footing at Manhattan’s M.E.A.N.Y. Festival and later on opening for Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook. Later came 2008’s ‘A Sound Opportunity For Your Last Music Purchase’, which introduced saxophone, pedal steel guitar and mandolin and was well-received by critics and fans. After appearing at New York's Great South Bay Music Festival with music legends Blue Oyster Cult, Odetta and the Dead’s Mickey Hart, home demos were completed for the 2011 rock opera 'Live My Dream Rock True' as the JSB were featured in a spring 2010 documentary about the indie rock scene that premiered at C.W. Post University’s Film Fest. The 24-song rock opera was recorded at well-known Sabella Studios in fall 2010, with mixing sessions handled by engineer Mike ‘Showtime’ Mulieri (also the bassist for hot rock band The Upwelling).
