The Jongens Quartet

Started in January 2011, the four young boys created an amazing group169427_152456141564744_1457759065_o called The Jongens Quartet. “Jongens” means “boys” in Dutch, hence the group’s name. The quartet consist of Ramadhani Syah on the Piano, Johanes Radianto on the guitar, Doni Sundjoyo on the Contra Bass, and Elfa Zulham on the Drums. The four boys met when Dhani, Johanes, and Zulham got back from their study in The Netherlands. They made a project called The Groens Project, inviting musicians from Groningen, Netherlands to play in Indonesia. Later, the met with Doni and decided to make a steady format with him and thus creating The Jongens Quartet. Still keeping their thick European Jazz flare to their music, but also adding some modern New York style Jazz to the menu. Not only they are highly educated in music, but their creativity comes in with their amazing composition. This group had played in many festivals, such as Java Jazz Festival, Locafore Art and Jazz Festival, Lecture Concert at Universitas Pelita Harapan, @America Jazz Concerts, and many more. Individually, the members have played in many events worldwide; from Japan, The Netherlands, Czech, Poland, US, Philippines and many other amazing countries. The Jongens Quartet also worked with amazing Indonesian and International artists such as Indra Lesmana, Aksan Sjuman, Riza Arshad, Joe Rosenberg, Oele Pattiselano, and many other amazing musicians.
