Music has long been lead singer Robbi Selin’s passion, from the time he started his musical journey at the age of 3, when his dad taught him how to play steel pan. Frontman Robbi Selin first had the idea to start a band while he was a student at the Barbados Community College in the Music programme. By
the spring of 2011, The Longest Night had been formed as an alternative rock band.
Robbi takes the lead as singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. The band has already released a debut album entitled ‘State of Attention’. TLN has had the opportunity to perform at several showcases including Sync Summit in LA and Caribbean Music Summit held in Barbados. Most recently,
TLN’s projects have been cased in a genre that Robbi denotes as ‘island rock’. The sound can be described as a rock fusion, with Caribbean elements. Robbi hopes that this will bring awareness to rock and alternative music especially in Barbados, as well as sending the Caribbean fusion sound into the international arena.
