The Mojave Collective were formed in 2001 in Liverpool UK. Drawing mainly on influences of American Roots music from the early seventies they created a sound and style unique to their city. Their music is founded on the songwriting talents of frontman Mark Delaney and the musicianship of Tommy Clarke (Lead guitar and Backing Vocals), Chris Simpson (Bass and Backing Vocals) and Chris Petersen. The line up was later expanded to include pedal-steel guitar played by Peter Johnson and percussion played and performed usually half-naked by James Murphy.

Petersen left in 2003 to pursue his interest in journalistic photography and was replaced by Jamie Ireland (formerly of Oberman) Jamie played on Rust&Dust which was recorded between 2006 and 2008 but left after shortly after the launch to pursue his interest in becoming a family man. In late 2008 the line up was once again completed with the addition of James Barton on drums. The band have continued to wow audiences at shows in the UK.
