Music. Creativity. Originality. Rocking out and getting lost in the heights of expression. Connecting to the unknown. That thing you can feel but can't see. There has to be a meaning. A worldly meaning. Life is not random. Making a small difference. Criticize corruption. Question motivations. Screams of unjust. Play so loud it'd steer people away from themselves and into their potential. Faith. Better is possible. It is up to us. And that is what we do. Music...
The Mother's Anger is a musical collaboration aiming to challenge people's perceptions of their ability to make a real difference in the world. The band, which was discovered in 2003 by Mike Davis of the MC5, delivers its lyrical message over dance beats and epic moments of chaos. The music could be described as Tribal Rock, a Native neighbor of Psychedelic Punk.
Israeli singer and guitarist, David T. Rapaport (AKA as "Stitch”) describes his muse as “the socially and politically aware with a greater understanding of the intricacies of the modern world”.
“I came to the US with this euphoric idea of what America is. The Mother's Anger's first national tour shattered that idea to pieces. Now, I have to do what I can to make it right." Stitch has also written a book on the subject titled "Escaping Revolution," that coincide with the band's album "Escape/Revolution."
Stitch has been named a dab hand on his "Buitar" (A custom made half bass/ half guitar instrument). Through his style and an elaborate system of tuning, he is able to provide a pseudo-bass effect intertwined with melodic modulation – a unique approach that creates a "phantom" bass player. “Slowly I developed my own low end… it’s all analog,” Stitch says. This arrangement has confused soundmen and crowds throughout the US and Europe. Drummer Joseph Braley has been performing live since the age of 13. He was chosen to perform on Soundgarden's bassist Ben Shepherd's solo album and considered by many as one of the top drummers in the Seattle area. The duo are joined by Percussionist Emilio Muniz who plays an array of drums including a 5 gallon bucket. As well as British Sitarist James Clayton who has been confirmed to join on select Mother's Anger on up coming EU/US tour dates. Stitch and Joseph have joined guitarist Jordan Cook to perform as REIGNWOLF. Together they have dominated festivals such as Sasquatch (The Gorge, WA), The Great Escape (Brighton, UK), Sound City (Liverpool, UK), Bumbershoot (Seattle), Hardly Strictly (San Francisco) among other, and currently touring the world.
