Grungy, wonky and sarcastic in both look and sound, The Self-Proclaimed Rockstars are a battalion of young indie-rock veterans who have learned to take their music seriously without taking themselves too seriously. They are currently touring the Northeast as often as possible in anticipation of the release of their record, “Apparatchik”, due in April 2013 – a record the band has described as “music for the next world war”. Their previous efforts have received radio play at over 100 stations nationwide, including mainstream terrestrial success in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, prompting the morning show host of that region’s 93.5 WZBH to dub them, “deceiving, deep, talented, at-times aggressive and always on point. They are a living, breathing, walking music video.”
