The Singing Company

Biography

The Singing Company is a worship band that was formed with the hope that many old Salvation Army songs could be updated, preserved, translated and used for praise and worship use today.

In June 2006 they recorded and released their debut album, The Red Book Sessions, which contained new arrangements of old songs, new melodies to old lyrics and completely original material. In 2008 they followed up this work with The Mercy Seat Sessions, a recording that dealt with the unique transformative experience that can be found at the mercy seat. They also released The Singing Company Christmas Musical—a Christmas EP—in December of 2006.

These songs have travelled around the world, have been translated into other languages and have taken on a life of their own. They hope that a younger generation will be turned on to the truths found in old hymns and that the messages of these songs will help lead worshippers to action!

Singing Company members include: Kirsten Gorton, Eric Himes, Nathan Irvine, Jonathan Taube, Brett Tolcher and Enrique Villatoro. Please visit their website: www.thesingingcompany.com
