The Slanted Sound

The Slanted Sound

The Slanted Sound is a Bel Air based Funk Rock / Fusion band with a side of jazz. Drawing their musical influences from artists like Stevie Wonder, The Allman, Brothers, and John Scofield, the band has a unique blend of danceable grooves that appeal to classic rock, jazz, and soul music lovers. The Slanted Sound consists of cousins Keith Tuttle (keyboard, vocals) and Zach McKinney (Sax), their good friends Walsh Kunkel (guitar), Graham Mitchell (bass), Riley Battaglia (trumpet), and newest member Mohammed Gbadamosi (drums). The band originally started as a quartet and played a wide variety of music, mostly falling in the 90’s rock category. The group would slowly grow over the years and start to hone in on its own unique sound, now being heavily influenced by funk music. The Slanted Sound started out playing small bars and backyard parties, but more recently played venues like the Maryland State Barbeque Bash, headlined Rams Head Live, Charm City Fringe Fest, and the 2015 Artscape. These close friends have been playing music with each other for years and have been tightening their sound, creating a close musical / personal bond between everyone in the band. The Slanted Sound is continuing to gig around the Baltimore area, recording new music, and waiting to bring their music to new places.
