The Sour Notes | Austin, TX, USA
"Never short on hooks or ambition, The Sour Notes play brittle pop for star-crossed post-grads... On rising tides of lonesome guitars and glimmering synths, the band builds its postmillennial laments, occasionally nodding to Krautrock and frequently conceding to a soundtrack-worthy mood." - Erik Adams, AV Club (The Onion)

Originating as a bedroom project in Houston, TX after a number of stints as second fiddle/session musician in various projects around town, Boston native Boulanger packed up and moved to Austin, TX with the purpose of starting a rock band. He arrived with their debut album pressed and in tow, 2008’s “The Meat of the Fruit”. Since then, different incarnations of the lineup served to reflect the characteristic rapidly evolving nature of The Sour Notes sound as exhibited in the self release of four albums, three 7-inches and five tours up the East Coast, thanks to a steady hard working DIY aesthetic they’ve maintained throughout their five years. They are currently working on a new album “Do What May” set for release in the Summer of 2012 with an accompanying tour.
