The Tisdales

The Tisdales are "Northern Minnesota's Loudest Band" according to KAXE disc jockey Doug MacRostie. The group considers Sparta Minnesota home. Sparta is also home to Sparta Sound, an old church where the album was recorded. This bunch of stooges got together after band co-leader Rich Mattson returned to his native Iron Range after an 18-year stint in Minneapolis fronting such bands as Ol' Yeller and the Glenrustles. Rich also made a name for himself in the big city as a terrific record producer/studio engineer/recording guy. After dissolving the great just-under-the-radar band Ol' Yeller, Rich recorded a session for Tony Derrick and Jason Kokal, who were looking to complete a group to perform Tony's excellent songs. After finding drummer Derek Rolando listening to early Kiss albums in his parents' basement, the lineup was solidified. Their first album "Bakers Dozen" was recorded post-haste, and plenty of shows and dances and screaming fans followed. After a southern tour left them without a van, the lads went home and recorded a second album, "Out With the New," which was kind enough to be released by Eclectone Records.
