Diverse musical backgrounds collide to create the Zydeco Stingrays. They've created their own brand of music that exists between the realm of Alt-Cajun and Zyde-Rock. Their goal is to forge their own path through writing songs that aren't typically conceived in the realm of zydeco, Cajun, or Louisiana music. They all share this credo and are intuitive enough to fan those sparks into a nice roaring fire.
With two full-length album releases under their belt, the future holds in store a promise of more to come, and a predicated bias for originality with a refusal to be labeled neatly into a store-front catalogue genre. While there will always be the sought-out ethnic flavors of zydeco and Cajun music woven into their fabric, their spin on the expected often catches listeners off-guard, not realizing how well Louisiana rhythms dance with classic rock, pop, blues, and country. This is definitely not your grandparent's zydeco, but it is a delightful mixture born from the fast-paced cosmopolitan life of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
