Thunderado

Want to know what Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Dick Dale and 70's-era ZZ-Top getting drunk together in a Mexican border bar sounds like? It sounds like Thunderado.

Thunderado is three musicians inspired by the Gulf Coast, the California desert, juke joints, noir mysteries, Texas dancehalls, rockabilly, surf and swing. Hunter Perrin, Paul Beebe and Billy Walters are the aforementioned three that make up this trippy little trio.

Following up their 2008 bare-knuckle debut, the boys bring you All Time Gone. Recorded in May, 2010, in LA and Texas. 11 songs, 30 minutes, self-produced and full-throttled. The first cut sounds like a Saturday night scrum in a vampire cantina owned by Ennio Morricone, and it only gets better from there. No sophmore slump here, folks.

A little dish about each of these guys . . .

Hunter Perrin comes from a musical family and grew up listening to outlaw country while attending conservatory for classical guitar. His style and versatility earned him a place in John Fogerty's band from 2007-2011 which got to back rock-n-roll pioneers Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

Also from a musical family, Paul Beebe is the consummate working musician: playing bass, drums, and singing in numerous groups all over Texas. His recording studio, Beebe Gunn, services regional musicians and is well-known for getting Tex-centric escapades of all shapes and sizes down on wax.

Billy Walters came to the Thunderado party as a last-minute sub for a Christmas gig. His backbeat was undeniable and he now lives in the Thunderado uniform of black western shirt and jeans. Like the other two, he’s originally from Houston and has been playing music his whole life.

Although the boys come from different musical backgrounds, together they make righteous desert rock that would be the perfect soundtrack for a Tarantino spaghetti western, and they’re coming to your town soon!
