Tim Hicks was born in Upper-East TN in 1968. He started learning guitar at 15 years old. Tim learned some Bluegrass tunes and and soon took up piano and bass and then began experimenting with other genres of music from his 80s pop-rock records and cassettes (Journey/Eagles/Richard Marx/Toto/Lionel Ritchie/ Bon Jovi, Etc...) along with his country records (Alabama / Ronnie Milsap / Vince Gill / Restless Heart, Alison Krauss, Etc...) His current influences include: Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, Mark Shultz, Bebo Norman, Mercy Me, and Steven Curtis Chapman.
Tim began experimenting with singing and songwriting in his late teens and recording demos. He later learned other instruments such as mandolin, viola, and drums. Tim rededicated his life to Christ in 1994 and has since, been inspired to write Christian songs. He has also written several Bluegrass gospel songs. Tim's wife, Janie, is also a singer and guitarist for many years and sang on the radio when she was 3 years old. They live near Jonesborough,TN. Tim is a member of B.M.I (Nashville). Tim and Janie are currently active worship musicians at their local church. Tim is currently writing new songs for his up-coming Praise and Worship CD due to release in mid-2011 in hopes of reaching the world through God's gift of music.
