Maintaining a busy schedule, he has racked up successful appearances at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, North Sea and Edinburgh Jazz Festivals, Richard Strauss Festival and Fiddles On Fire, dazzling audiences and fellow musicians alike.

As a young musician Kliphuis (pronounced Clip House) cut his teeth in the fiery Manouche bands playing Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli - but nowadays he is likelier to be heard duelling with Richard Galliano, Frankie Gavin or Charlie McKerron. Tim has recently written the definitive book (published by Mel Bay) on Gypsy swing style violin.
