Tired Old Bones

Biography

Tired Old Bones is a band that was first an accumulation of instruments; the players who now play them were added later. In the fall of 2008, Neal Johnson and former Bismarck and Bury the Needle bandmate Jesse Sherman (We’re All Going to Die), formed Tired Old Bones with the mission of serving up dirge rock-waltz/pop-inspired ditties. They found an organ player Bridget Nault (ex-Kieran Ridge Band, who also has recorded with We’re All Going to Die) not only to play keys but to also provide her smooth vocals that pair seamlessly with the reverb-saturated guitar provided by Glen Smith (ex- Liquor Tricks, Stu Walker), a recording studio founder who was mocked mercilessly until he agreed to join the group in early 2009. Suffused with a vintage country, blues, and Garage rock sound, Tired Old Bones draws from a rich vintage flavor while pushing their original compositions into new territory. Tired Old Bones is currently stretching its legs, playing shows around Boston.
