Biography

Tobin Mueller is a composer, playwright and photographer living in Connecticut, just outside New York City (his former home). His musical compositions range from ballet/symphonies to jazz/progressive rock. More recently, he has recorded several solo piano albums based on commissioned works, jazz ensemble sessions, and collaborations with musicians from around the world. He moves from genre to genre with ease, drawing from varied influences and eras. His music has an eclectic style that synthesizes and originates.

Six of Tobin's musical dramas have seen Manhattan stages. Several songs from his play "Creature" have found their way into recordings offered on CDBaby, including jazz renditions on his award-winning Rain Bather and experimental re-workings performed by his progressive rock band, Audiocracy. Tobin has also written several books, poetry collections, video games, and blogs.

Tobin also sells photographs to hotels. Close-ups of flowers (grown by his wife in their back yard) and Cape Cod vistas dominate his portfolio. Samples of his work can be viewed on his website: www.tobinmueller.com.

In 1994, Tobin was inducted into the United Nations' Global 500 Roll of Honor for his work with youth worldwide in the environmental movement. He has written a series of youth musicals for his touring troupe, CenterStage Productions, most notably: To Save The Planet.
