Tom Estlack's work incorporates a variety of artistic disciplines, including (but not limited to) the following: music, animation, interactive/kinetic sculpture, installation, painting, performance, composition and printmaking. His video animations and installations have been exhibited throughout the world in various museums, cultural institutions and festivals. His video works include the various musical compositions you will find here.
He grew up in York, Pennsylvania. While there, he collaborated on musical compositions with Jason Hoffheins and Rick Smith, and collaborated on guerilla performance works with Matt Faber and James Klinedinst. After years of investigation, study and practice he began to merge aspects of visual art, music, performance, sculpture and animation into a unified artform. The idiosyncratic nature of his creative output is informed by his interest in the neurological phenomenon, known as synesthesia - whereby sense information is merged, and experienced simultaneously.
He currently lives and works in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
