Aaron grew up on a small farm hidden in the humble cornfields of northern Minnesota. During the teen years his major outlets, besides snowmobiling and fishing, were drawing and painting while listening Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. He left at the age of seventeen to find his own answers and create his own destiny.
For the next two decades Aaron wandered the west living in California, New Mexico, Washington, Wyoming, Montana, and, now, Oregon. Along the way he discovered passions for photography, poetry, music and mountain wilderness.
Early in his travels, Aaron was introduced to the low end vibes of hip-hop, trip-hop, electronica and jazz. While obtaining his B.A. of English Literature from the University of Montana he was a DJ on KBGA Missoula. During study breaks he would spend hours digging through the music library and listening to how others have grappled with their own questions and destiny.
For the past few years he has been composing a series of down-tempo songs under the name of Traveler Q. Some of my influences include DJ Shadow, DJ Spooky, Mos Def, The Roots, Thievery Corporation, Slide Five, Galactic, Miles Davis and SomaFM.
Today Aaron makes his mark as photographer, writer and composer. He lives in Portland, OR with his fiancé and dog.
