The classical guitarist Unai Rodríguez was born in Portugalete, Vizcaya, in 1975. He got his degree in Classical Guitar Interpreter at the Superior Conservatory of the Basque Country, Musikene, under the tutelage of Marco Socías. After completing higher studies, he continued perfectioning his performing skills for one year with Fernando Rodriguez. He has also received masterclasses from other great guitarist such as: Eduardo Isaac, Franz Halasz, Jukka Savijoki, Alex Garrobé, Aniello Desiderio, Marcin Dylla and Roberto Aussel.
He has taken part in numerous concerts as soloist, as a duet as with flutist Maite Neri or in quartet as with the Guitar Quartet of Musikene. Noteworthy performances took place in the IX week Aita Donostia Musical and in the IV International Guitar Festival of Hondarribia, acting as a soloist with orchestra under the baton of Gorka Sierrain the Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. He has also taken part in a duo performance with Carles Trepat in the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra and invited to perform a soloist concert in the XII Cultural Days of Psychology at the University of Barcelona.
He teaches guitar in Casa Sors where he met guitarist Fernando Alonso, author of numerous classical guitar versions of popular songs. His appreciation of the quality of the arrangements by Alonso led him to include them in his concerts with great reception from the public.
