UpSounDown consists of writer/singer/guitarist Paul C Miller, with drummer Eric Schmitt. Founded in 2010, Paul was encouraged by Eric to record some of his many songs onto a professional medium. The exciting result is "Cut and Dry" with elements of many classic rock hooks, and modern grooves.
To keep Paul's vision consistent all bass parts except "Road Rage", were played by him. Leigh Kippen donned the bass for that song. He was impressed by it's groove and put his best lines towards the song.
It was a cold January when recording finally was into fruition. Though sporadic over the span of three months. "Cut and Dry" sessions lasted a total of six long days.
When you listen you will hear high energy guitar and bass playing with no frills drumming to match the power of the songs. The title track is political in nature, but in a good way. Mostly the songs are poignant with an exception of the commercial "Porsche 911".
UpSounDown is a proud Canadian band from Winnipeg, Manitoba and enjoys local and international music. There are elements of British punk, LA rock, and New York scene scattered throughout the album and of course, Canadiana.
Eric and Paul always have a sense of fun and humor, and glad you give them your musical consideration!
You can check them out on Facebook and Myspace (where Paul writes his blog). Also Youtube will be in the very near future. Happy listening!
