BIOGRAPHY

UMI (Urban Ministries, Inc.) is the largest independent, African American-owned and operated Christian media company. For more than 40 years, UMI has provided instructional materials that are tailored to our community and thoroughly evaluated by its theological and educational experts. Directly applicable to everyday life, our Christian education courses, books, and other media depict and speak to people of color in cultural context. We publish Christian education resources, including Bible studies, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curriculum, books, movies, and websites designed for African American churches and individuals seeking a Christ-centered perspective on faith and life issues.

OUR MISSION: We are called of God to create, produce, and distribute quality Christian education products; to deliver exemplary customer service; and to provide quality Christian educational services, which will empower God’s people, especially within the Black community, to evangelize, disciple, and equip people for serving Christ, His kingdom, and church.
