Vickie Woodard; a multi-talented gospel artist with a unique soulful voice and anointed delivery.
Psalmist Vickie Woodard, a multi-talented gospel artist with a unique but soulful voice and anointed delivery, has recorded five CDs featuring her original compositions over the last 14 years as an accomplished writer. In 2009, Woodard was a featured soloist on the Arkansas Gospel Mass Choir debut CD entitled "Hold On For Life," where she lead two of her original songs ("Mighty God" and King of Kings). She is also a featured soloist on their recent recording “Live to Worship” which was released in March 2011.
In addition to her gifts to write, play, and sing, Woodard's service in building the kingdom of God includes roles such as minister of music, a licensed music educator in the public school system with over 19 years of teaching experience and a workshop clinician on the state and national level. Her original musical compositions, such as “Vindicated”, “Jesus Paid the Cost” and “How Can I Say Thank you” have been presented at the Gospel Music Workshop of America National Convention, which provides a rare opportunity and national recognition for artists to showcase their musical gifts. Woodard has worked with and/or studied under such respected musical artists and legends as Joe Pace, Richard Smallwood, Bishop Larry Trotter, V. Michael McKay and her mentors Reverend Barbara Jackson and noted songwriter Dr. Margaret Douroux.
In 2004, Woodard released “Turn to HYMN#...” a CD project featuring traditional hymns of the church. Dedicated in memory of her parents and in memory of her home church's poised pianist who poured into her as a child, the CD was a personal conquest for Vickie. Her most recent work on the Melosong Entertainment/Tate Music label, “BIGGER” is the culmination of more than four years of music writing, personal struggles and biblical study. The title track "Bigger" summarizes the fact that God is bigger, greater and able to do more than we can ask or even think. A new multimedia tour plan is underway with tour stops in several cities including St. Louis, Dallas, Shreveport, Jackson Mississippi, Memphis, Jonesboro, and more.
With God's blessings, new strategies and networks underway, the message of Vickie Woodard's Melodious Praise will reach the masses....”men and women of every birth”.
