BIOGRAPHY
Home is in the rugged landscape of the Alaskan Interior. Raised traveling in an Air Force family, childhood music lessons were sporadic but we always had a piano. As an adult, I began to play from my heart while living in a small ski resort community. Hours were spent daily on the piano, writing and painting with mountains, trees and snow as the backdrop; toddlers played at my feet. I remember being surprised when a neighbor said she looked forward to hearing me on the piano whenever she was at home. I didn’t know anyone was listening! Music has been a spiritual gift and solace; a peaceful gift of healing.
I hold a B.A. Art from Auburn University and Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University. I am a guest pianist for national and international botanical and garden events. My artwork is on display during the performances and original art/photography is used in my CD design. I have also served as a fine arts, elementary teacher and school principal in a remote region in the Interior of Alaska. My work has been primarily among people surrounded by discouragement and hardship. I hope the listener receives encouragement from my music. I recently released a new CD called Quiet My Heart.
