Talented singer, ingenious composer and producer all together, Viky is a special artist for the way he carved his musical career and for his own manner of being different from any known standards.
He was born on the 27th of May 1984, in the beautiful Transylvanian town of Braşov. Viky took to the stage for the first time at the age of six, by entering a children's singing contest and walking home with a prize. He has since taken a share in many such contests and raised an enviable record. He was 13 when he received a toy piano. He immediately started banging on the keys which, to his delight, sounded really nice. That is when he decided he wanted to learn to play the keyboards. He managed to accomplish that all by himself, something he is very much used to.
After singing in night clubs for three years, Viky decided to over-go the Romanian borders and experience different music genres and styles all throughout Europe. One year into his European adventure, he came back to Romania, left his hometown and moved to the capital. His talent never failed to stand out, granting him many collaborations. Amongst others, he formed part of a funk band called Slang and sang with great artists, such as Paula Seling.
In 2007, he joined the record-breaking-sensation band Morandi, as a keyboardist. Together with Morandi, he had the opportunity to perform on the same stage with international artists such as “30 Seconds to Mars” and Jennifer Lopez and to take part in many concerts in countries including: the UK, Russia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and The Baltic Countries.
Subsequent to his collaboration with Morandi, Viky felt the need to go back to his first love - singing - therefore, together with three other talented musicians, he formed Sonichouse. The band released an album called "Supersonic".
Notwithstanding Sonichouse's success, the time came for Viky to take a few steps forward and focus on a solo career, carried out under the name of "VIKY RED".
The first step was already taken with the release of his first single, "If you ever feel", produced in collaboration with Deepside Deejays. The single was bestowed a very special and sensitive video, depicting a love story between two homeless people.
“If you ever feel” is currently swiping the Globe, being licensed in numerous territories, as follows: Germany, Austria and Switzerland (through Planet Punk Music); Spain and Andorra (through Roster Music); Italy, Vatican City, San Marino (Dipiu Music); Benelux (PM Recordings); Ghana, Ivory Coast, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Dubai, Gulf and UAE, Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Kenya and Nigeria (through Toco International).
Viky Red’s second single and video, “Love you”, develops the same story illustrated in “If you ever feel” and takes it several steps further. As its name clearly states, “Love you” is a love song, aimed at new frontiers.
Recently, Viky Red has released his third single, a hauntingly beautiful ballad, called “Just for you”. Since the song conveys strong feelings through simple means (voice and piano), it was only natural that the video would be just as simple, yet powerful, making use of black and white imagery and only a touch of red.
Viky Red is currently working on his debut album, aimed at displaying high-profiled music performed by a one of a kind artist.
