Vincent James Taranto was born in San Diego, California in the year 1949, the third son of a second
generation Sicilian famly. From the age of 13, Vince had a strong affinity for music and took to the
task of learning to play the guitar with passion. As the years flew by his passion for learning to perform
music grew, leading him down a path to music theory. He is a self taught musician who has taught
himself to play the acoustic and electric guitar, the mandolin, ukelele, flute, recorder and piano.
Influenced in his early life by great performing artist, such as Buffalo Springfield, the Beatles,
Crosby, Stills and Nash, Loggins and Messina, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, to name just a few, his own
musical style emerged as a sort of synthesis of these influences. Vince's style would place him
somewhere within the Pop: Beatles-Pop and Easy Listening: Mood genres.
In later years, Vince found himself desiring to record and capture his musical ideas for his
children and posterity, hence he produced his first collection of original songs in 2006 titled
"Eastern Seaboard Collection". In 2012 he produced his current album "A Time To Rise", which he
feels is the product of his best work thus far.
Vince has set a goal of a producing a new and better album each and every year and is currently
upgrading his home recording studio to help secure that goal. A new album is already taking shape
along the lines of sentimental memories of his upbringing, for instance one possible song will be
titled, "I Know You By the Sound of Your Soles".
