Voide

Biography

Voide (Dave Almgren) is a composer and producer of electronic music with over two decades of experience.

Born 1970 in the Stockholm area of Sweden, Dave's artistic interests started around 1984 when he in his teens purchased his first synthesizer. Equipped with the new opportunities of owning an instrument he joined a local school band. After about a year the band split but Dave started composing music on his own with the limited means available.

In 1986 Dave started a band with U. Johansson composing electronic pop music. Sound Machine, as the name was, did have a concert in the northern suburbs of Stockholm in May 1987. The band reformed in 1988 adding two other members and changed the name to Sine Qua Non (S.Q.N). Shortly there after one member left and the band was renamed again to Repulse. The new band was focused on synth and EBM type music with bands like Depeche Mode, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb and DAF.

Repulse performed live at Ungdomens Hus in Uppsala in 1988 as an opening act to Mobile Homes. The singer in the band had an accident 1989 and the band split up.

Dave and U. Johansson formed ULDA in 1990 composing experimental/psychedelic electronic music. From 1992 to 2002 ULDA released four albums where Dave was the producer.

By 2006 no productions had been made for four years since the last album and as Dave wanted to continue with his musical career he founded Voide.

With Voide he started to produce songs with his own and unique electronic music style, influenced by the electronic music pioneers. In time the first Voide album release Dave engaged with Peter In de Betou at Tailor Maid studios in Stockholm and Peter has mastered all Voide tracks and albums since then.

In 2007 Dave met Suzie Electric at MySpace finding they shared many musical references and started working together. Late December 2008 they released the single titled 'Love'.

In 2009 ULDA was reformed and the new name is Little Red Cottage (LRC) and one single has been released titled 'I Go Easy' featuring Australian vocalist Pixieguts.

Dave is actively producing and composing music as a member of both Little Red Cottage and Voide working in his home studio in the northern area of Stockholm.
